Research & Statistics

Thorough research is the key to success in international business. The World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara (WTCBN) International toolkit provides links to major online resources to assist in trade research.

Information and sources of international trade research are organized into the following sections:

Trade Flow Data
Country Reports
Partner Search
International Industry Associations

A step by step approach to market research would include finding potential markets for your products or services, assessing those markets to narrow your focus to 2 or 3 targeted markets and then concentrate efforts on those markets to ascertain sources of competition, end-user sectors, channels of distribution, trade barriers, and total landed cost factors, including shipping, marketing, commissions, taxes and tariffs and other associated costs.

There are many sites offering market research information for your product, industry, or geographic focus. Follow up with prospective partners to confirm market data obtained and to ensure you receive the most current “in country” market data.

For more information or assistance please contact the WTCBN by email at info@wtcbn.com, by phone at 1.716.852.7160 or toll-free at 1.877.WTC.INTL (U.S./Canada).
